…virtually of course!

In ongoing efforts to engage, inform and celebrate history, the East Hampton Historical Society has reinvented their signature summer event, the East Hampton Antiques & Design Show, in a virtual format. This may seem very “new school” for the “old school” steward of East Hampton history, but now is the time!

The East Hampton Historical Society announces the Virtual Antiques Show Party, Friday July 17 (a ticketed event), followed by an online auction from July 17 through July 24, sponsored by Doyle Auction House, the world’s foremost auctioneers and appraisers of fine art, jewelry, furniture, decorations, coins, Asian works of art and a variety of specialty categories.

In lieu of the annual Preview Cocktail Party, usually held on the bucolic grounds of Mulford Farmstead, ticketed recipients will receive a personally delivered swag bag* of beautifully arranged East End delectables and wine.

“Pull up a lounge chair and enjoy the sea breeze, knowing that you’re supporting the East Hampton Historical Society’s many museums and educational programs,” said Maria Vann, Executive Director of the East Hampton Historical Society.

The East Hampton Virtual Antiques Show Party is made possible in part by the generous support of media sponsor HC&G (Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Magazine) and Wőlffer Estate.

Tickets for the Virtual Antiques Show Party (tickets include swag bag* and tax-deductible donation to the East Hampton Historical Society) are $150. Gift Bags will be delivered to South Fork ticket holders. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting the Events page on the East Hampton Historical Society’s website at www.easthamptonhistory.org. Inquires can be made via email: info@easthamtponhistory.org .

The online auction, July 17 through July 24, will offer a cornucopia of items donated by top designers, possessing local roots and national fame. Items to tickle your fancy are donated by local design luminaries, including Aerin Lauder, Jonathan Adler, Charlotte Moss, Kim Seybert, and Marshall Watson, to name just a few.

Rare works of art, donated by the East Hampton Historical Society, will also be up for bid, including coveted works by Thomas Moran and Claus Hoie, and watercolors by David Arbus.

Local designers are auctioning off creative experiences, including “COVID Cocktails” (wine and hors d’oeuvres) hosted at the home of designer Marshall Watson, with a properly distanced guided tour of the house and garden.

If your home is chock full of art and home design items, but you would still like to give back to the community, the East Hampton Historical Society is also offering the opportunity to support the East End ambulance corps as a way of giving back to first responders. First responder bids go directly to the Ambulance Corps in the form of gift certificates to local restaurants.

The East Hampton Historical Society Online Auction will be held from 6pm, July 17 through 6pm, July 24. The online auction is made possible by Doyle Auction House. Visit the East Hampton Historical Society’s website (www.easthamptonhistory.org) to attend the auction when it goes live. Simply click the Auction Announcement link on the Events page of the website to participate: https://easthamptonhistory.org/events/. Enjoy perusing the array of artful items, chic home designs, and creative experiences offered by distinctive designers. Enjoy bidding, buying and cyber-ogling before it’s going, going, gone!

Note: Complimentary delivery of swag bags* for South Fork residents only. Others kindly pick up at the East Hampton Historical Society office, 101 Main Street, once social distancing has been lifted. The office will contact recipients once they are able to provide in-office pick-ups.
