T
oday the Hamptons International Film Festival, Long Island’s premier film organization, announced their new parent company HamptonsFilm to recognize its continued year-round programming. The non-profit, founded in 1992, has been offering year-round screenings, filmmaking labs and educational programs since its inception. This name change, as well as the newly debuted logo, expresses the organization’s decades-long commitment to advancing the art of filmmaking and being a cultural arts institution beyond the annual festival.

Under the HamptonsFilm banner, the organization will not only present the yearly Hamptons International Film Festival each October, but will continue to incorporate its other programs, including weekly “Now Showing” screenings, the annual Screenwriters Lab in April, the seasonal SummerDocs series and free outdoor screenings, and year-round HIFF Jr. education initiatives, including summer film camps, in-school and after school programs, and mentorships and scholarships.

“I’ve been thrilled to watch the Hamptons International Film Festival evolve over nearly three decades from a five-day film festival to an organization providing year-round film programming and education to nearly a million film enthusiasts throughout the region,” said Randy Mastro, Board Co-Chair. “The arts — and, in particular, film — bring us all together as a community, and that’s what HamptonsFilm has been and will be doing all year long.”

“As our year-round programming continues to expand, we are thrilled to introduce a parent company to encapsulate our growth and evolution,” said Anne Chaisson, Executive Director of HamptonsFilm. “As we head into the 27th edition of the festival, we are excited to welcome audiences into our new journey and invite them to join us for film immersion all year long.”

Additionally, the HamptonsFilm website hamptonsfilm.org gives a review of all year-round programming. The website and full online digital branding will launch on October 2, in advance of the 27th edition of this year’s film festival. The 2019 Hamptons International Film Festival will take place October 10-14. Individual tickets are on sale now.
