24th Hamptons International Film Festival Announces Aaron Eckhart, Holly Hunter And Edward Norton To Participate In Signature Program “A Conversation With…” Presented By BMW

The Hamptons International Film Festival (HIFF) announced today that Aaron Eckhart, Holly Hunter and Edward Norton will participate in “A Conversation With…,” a signature program at the festival. HIFF also announced their jury members for the 24th annual festival, taking place over Columbus Day Weekend, October 6 – 10.


Golden Globe®-nominated actor Aaron Eckhart will take part in “A Conversation With…” on Friday, October 7th at 1:15pm at the UA Theater in East Hampton. Eckhart stars as boxing trainer Kevin Rooney in BLEED FOR THIS, previously announced as one of HIFF’s Spotlight Films screening on Friday, October 7th at 3:45pm. Academy Award®-winning actress and producer Holly Hunter will take part in “A Conversation With…” on Saturday, October 8th at 1:00pm at East Hampton Middle School. Hunter stars in Katherine Dieckmann’s STRANGE WEATHER, which was previously announced as the Southampton Opening Night Film on Friday, October 7th at 7:00pm. Three-time Academy Award®-nominated actor, director, producer and activist Edward Norton, will also participate in “A Conversation With…” on Sunday, October 9th at 1:00pm at East Hampton Middle School. As previously announced, Norton will be honored at the festival with a Career Achievement Award on Sunday, October 9th. “A Conversation With…” is Presented by BMW.


“Our ‘A Conversation With…’ series has been a focal point of the Hamptons International Film Festival since its inception. These riveting conversations allow audiences a deeper look into the cinematic discussion of acting and filmmaking,” said HIFF Executive Director Anne Chaisson. “We are honored to have the talented Aaron Eckhart, Holly Hunter and Edward Norton at the festival this year to bring in-depth and intriguing discussions to our audience in the Hamptons.”


HIFF also announced the jury members for the 2016 festival. The Narrative Jury will include David Edelstein, chief film critic for New York Magazine, NPR’s Fresh Air, and regular commentator for CBS Sunday Morning; Mariska Hargitay, Emmy® and Golden Globe® Award winning actress known for her role as Olivia on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit; and writer and director John Krokidas, who recently made his feature directorial debut with KILL YOUR DARLINGS, starring Daniel Radcliffe and Dane DeHaan, which screened as Opening Night of the 2013 HIFF. The Documentary Jury will include Alexis Alexanian, film producer and consultant and currently President of Production at Locomotive, a film, television and financing company that recently financed and executive produced Rebecca Miller’s MAGGIE’S PLAN, and prior worked on films including MISSISSIPPI BURNING and BONFIRE OF THE VANITIES; Jason Janego, former Co-Founder and Co-President of RADiUS who distributed films including SNOWPIERCER, IT FOLLOWS, BACHELORETTE, 20 FEET FROM STARDOM and CITIZENFOUR; and Julie Goldstein, President of Production at Endgame Entertainment, which has produced films including THE DISCOVERY, FREEHELD, LOOPER and SIDE EFFECTS. Prior Goldstein held executive positions at HBO and Miramax where she worked on films including Best Picture Academy Award®-winners CHICAGO and SHAKESPEARE IN LOVE and Academy Award®-nominee BRIDGET JONES’ DIARY, among many more.


HIFF will continue their standing relationship with the New York Film Critics Circle (NYCFF), with members serving as mentors, panelists and jurors at various events throughout the festival. “The New York Film Critics Circle are delighted to continue our relationship with the Hamptons International Film Festival,” said New York Film Critics Circle Chairman David Edelstein. “Given the great movies and filmmakers and actors and madly attractive audiences eager to see films early and begin conversations that will continue, in one form or another, all year, it’s much harder to get us to leave the Hamptons than go out there.”

The 24th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival will be held over Columbus Day Weekend – October 6th through 10th. HIFF is a year-round 501(c)3 non-profit organization with events, screenings, film workshops, comprehensive summer programs and an annual film festival each October.
