Loosely based on Shakespeare's "Macbeth," Mackenlay Polhemus' debut feature is a whimsical comedy about a young man's struggle between loyalty to his brother and passionate love for the woman his brother is going to marry. On a visit to his hometown of Inverness, Scotland, aspiring poet Mac (Josiah Polhemus) encounters three "witches" who prophesy a series of mishaps that will derail the impending marriage of his brother lan (Robert Ross) to Beth (Ann Boehike) back in Inverness, California, the following week. Returning to California, Mac has every intention of preventing the marriage from being disrupted, despite the fact that he too loves his brother's financee. Nevertheless, the prophesies- involving an enraged skunk, pot-laced brownies, and an involuntary cohabitation-come to pass, wreaking havoc on the wedding yet ironically bringing Mac and Beth together.
