Michael Combs comes from a long line of Long Island boat builders, decoy makers, fisherman and market gunners who for five generations made their living on the Great South Bay. In this site-specific installation for The Parrish's Transept Gallery, Combs focuses on the ultimate male retreat, the "trophy room," where masculinity, aggression, and acquisitiveness converge in a compelling commentary on social and environmental concerns.
