Family Events

Enjoy a festive day of puppets at The Parrish. The afternoon will begin at 1pm with a spectacular puppet performance. From 2 to 4 pm the activities continue with puppet-making sessions, techniques to putting on your own show, face painting, balloons, music, and an ice cream concession to top off the fun! Rain or shine.

Mattituck/ Laurel Public Library: 1 to 1:45 pm for Children in Grades 3 through 6

The Parrish Art Museum is sponsoring art workshops at The Riverhead Free Library and The Mattituck/ Laurel Public Library. Children who live in the Riverhead or Mattituck School Districts are invited to participate in these workshops, which will include learning about the history of artists from the region and creating your own works of art. The first three weeks will be held at the libraries. The fourth week's workshop on November 5 takes place at The Parrish Art Museum and features a tour of the exhibition and a special reception for the participants and their families.

Halloween Party

Sunday Fun Day: Family Tour and Art Workshop

This fun-filled Sunday afternoon is designed for families to spend time together in the museum exploring and learning about the exhibition, Finders Keepers: The Obsessions of Passionate Collectors. This exhibition explores the fascination of collecting objects and artwork. After the tour, families will be given the opportunity to create projects inspired by the works on view and make their own collection of artwork at the Museum.

Family Fiesta Day

The Parrish, in collaboration with The Rogers Memorial Library, presents our annual Family Fiesta Day, celebrating Latin American culture, heritage, and traditions. The day features a wide array of activities including traditional dances, costumes, singers, music, art workshops and authentic samplings of food from local Latin restaurants. All activities are conducted in both English and Spanish.

Southampton Village Christmas Tree Lighting Reception

The Southampton Cultural Center and The Village of Southampton cordially invites all to attend the annual holiday reception being held this year at The Parrish Art Museum following the Southampton Village Christmas Tree Lighting. The festivities will include live music, refreshments and a special appearance by Santa on the East side of The Museum.

Holiday Vacation Performance: Snappy Happy Holidays from the Uncle Brothers

"Snappy Happy Holidays from the Uncle Brothers" multicultural holiday show is sure to please with their upbeat, fun songs of the season. Having appeared on "The Today Show" and Disney Radio, Danny Quinn and award-winning musician and composer Tom Gardner are "The Uncle Brothers". Their original songs have brought them high acclaim with children and parents, as winners of The Parents Choice Award 2000 and 2004, The Children's Music Web Award, The Parents Guide Award, and the KIDSING 2001 Composer's Competition. This festive holiday show will have audiences of all ages singing and dancing along.

Holiday Vacation Art Workshops
December 27, 28, and 29

Celebrate your Holiday Vacation at The Parrish with creative workshops and visual arts. Workshops include painting, printmaking and sculpture and are offered in two sessions for children age 4 to 5 and 6 to 10. Children may be registered for a single session or any combination of sessions throughout the three days. A snack will be served at each session.
