Group President Bob DeLuca joined with the Executive
Director of the Long
Island Heating Oil Institute, Kevin Rooney in supporting a recent
Southampton Town resolution to create a new cash rebate program for
residents of Southampton Town who replace their underground fuel oil
storage tanks.
The proposal, which recently passed, is known as the Southampton Town Fuel Oil Storage Safe Tank Rebate and Incentive Program, and provides residents with a rebate of up to $700 for the closure and replacement of underground fuel tanks. The new program is retroactive to tanks that were retired and replaced as far back as March 1, 2005. Last year, the Group developed the tank rebate concept and saw the region.s first cash incentive programs approved by East Hampton Town and Suffolk County. Now that Southampton Town has adopted its own program, homeowners in the South Fork.s largest town can receive a substantial cash rebate for taking action to protect our regions groundwater. Southampton residents can also take advantage of the Suffolk County rebate program, which offers and additional $100 rebate for tank replacement. For information on getting a tank rebate contact:
