In his feature film debut Renos Harlambidis proves that the modern dream of becoming a film director is universal, even in a country with such a proud ancient tradition as Greece. With four unsold scripts in hand, wannabe filmmaker Irineos (Renos Haralmbisdis) knows time is running out when his landlady gets two small-time hoods to shake him down. When he sees a classified ad "looking for a producer" he feels his dream (and back rent) may be financed by a soft-hearted maker of porn flicks looking for a little respect and a way to launder some cash. No Budget Story is a quirky, iron-ic comedy and Haralambidis is an exciting new talent who shows his moxie by using the film's low budget limitations to create an endaering story with a bare-bones charm all its own. - Deena Juras
