In a bar in Sao Paulo, a group of men gather every afternoon and pass the time by telling stories about their common passion: soccer. All of them were once great players ' now they keep their love of the game alive by sharing memories and enjoying each other's company. Writer-director Ugo Giorgetti, himself a former football player, has been making features, documentaries, and short films for the past 25 years and he has consistently returned to one subject-life in Sao Paulo. His movies capture the rhythms and small dramas of daily life, and in Pros he has made a charming and naturalistic film that shows a deep feeling for the ways in which a sport can become such an integral part of our lives and can shape the identity of a city. - David Schwartz
