Made in a style that updates the grittiness of Italian Neorealism for the age of MTV, Edge City blends strikingly authentic performances with a dynamic, fast-paced style of editing and shooting. With rare emotional intensity, Edge City depicts the crisis that erupts when two brothers from the "wrong side" of the tracks encounter a young woman, Cherie, who drives her dad's Cherokee and drinks Dom Perignon in parking lots with her girlfriends.
