Nestor Miranda's heartfelt, richly detailed debut feature depicts Latinos struggling for a better life against seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Pepe (Marcos Miranda) drives a gypsy cab and dreams of someday owning a Town Car. His cousin, Rico (Yancey Arias), is an aspiring actor in an industry all but closed to Latinos. They live together in Pepe's small tenement apartment. When Rico meets Marisol (Lisa Vidal), a new neighbor, he immediately sets out to court her. Meanwhile, Pepe is being courted by local gangsters to deliver "special packages" for fast cash. Suddenly Rico's acting career takes off and his relationship with Marisol blossoms, and Pepe is accumulating enough money to buy his dream car. As they get closer to their goals, however, their respective worlds begin to crumble.
