Grand-prize winner at Italy's Mystfest earlier this year, Antonio Tibaldi's Little Boy Blue is the haunting story of a young man's struggle for survival in a troubled family hiding a long-buried secret. Nineteen-year-old Jimmy West (Ryan Phillippe) is torn between going to college with his girlfriend Traci (Jenny Lewis) or remaining with his family in their desolate trailer home. Jimmy's life is dominated by Ray West (John Savage), his brutal and unpredictable father, and Ray's beautiful wife Kate (Nastassja Kinski), who tries to hold on to a happier past. Trapped in the twisted triangle between Ray and Kate, Jimmy is forced to play a role in the strange games orchestrated by Ray for his own pleasure. But Jimmy's protective love for his two younger brothers prevents him from leaving home. Fate intervenes in the form of a mysterious woman (Shirley Knight) on a deadly mission. Her quest to bring Ray to justice for a crime committed long ago will shatter the Wests' world forever. But Jimmy may finally get a chance at a normal life and happiness.
