Marilyn Katz began her decorating career twenty years ago when she returned
to New York after living in Europe for eight years. She is a graduate of the
New York School of Design. She has designed both traditional and
contemporary homes and is know for her talent in combining 18th and 19th
Century English, French, Swedish and Russian antiques with comfortable
seating, handsome rugs and beautiful fabrics. Marilyn Katz's work has been
published in magazines and newspapers in magazines and newspapers including
Connoisseur, House & Garden, of Portugal, Art & Design of Brazil , House,
Newsday and The New York Post . She has appeared on "Elsa Klensch's Style"
showing an elegant Manhattan apartment that she designed for a couple with
Marilyn Katz designed the Portico Porch and Garden as a relaxing place to
sit and read, have a cup of tea and enjoy the lovely flowers. The formality
of the gazebo, French planters and 19th Century French marble topped table
is contrasted with the casual feeling of the unusual wicker furniture,
whimsical dishes and colorful fabrics.
