This summer's matches promise to be some of the most exciting in the sport
of polo. The sport's greatest athletes will compete for one of polo's most
treasured prizes. Returning as well will be some of the East End's most high-profile and
influential audience of V.I.P's, celebrities and media. Teams that will
compete this season include: CERTIFIED, CINQUE TERRE/HEATHCOTE, EQUUELEUS,
W.B.F, GREAT OAKS and BLACK WATCH.
Season partners include: Mercedes-Benz, Piaget, Blue Star Jets,
Coca-Cola, Stoli Elit, Riva Yachts, and OPTYX by gruen.
Polo Ralph Lauren will return this summer as the exclusive apparel
retailer with an onsite shop at the Bridgehampton Polo matches.
Evocative of the spirit and heritage of Polo, the shop will feature
Ralph Lauren's Black Watch collection and The World of Polo
Fragrance. Spectators visiting the Ralph Lauren shop will have a
great view of the polo matches and be able to enter to win a Polo
lesson with Black Watch team member Nacho Figueras. Polo Ralph Lauren
became an official sponsor of the Black Watch Polo team in 2007,
providing apparel created exclusively for the polo players.
The 2009 season will commence on
Saturday, July 18th and will continue for six consecutive Saturdays, ending August
22nd. A portion of the proceeds from the Mercedes-Benz Bridgehampton Polo Challenge will go to the
South Fork Breast Health Coalition. The V.I.P. tent will host an invitation-only cocktail
reception for exclusive guests each Saturday afternoon during the tournament. Matches will
take place from 4pm - 6pm. Here is a video
